'Talking Techie', What do I.T acronyms stand for?

What does that mean? A few IT acronyms.

All industries have their own special language, terms, abbreviations and acronyms. Few industries however can compete with the volume and diversity of those used within IT where it is possible to have whole conversations using nothing but these.

As IT is used within all other industries we all have some ability to “talk techie” and recognise terms such as Wi-Fi/Blog etc. and know exactly what they refer to. What we may not always know however is the actual meaning of these acronyms and abbreviations that we use on a regular basis.

Below is a list of IT terms that you may have come across and what they stand for.

The above list is only a small example of the acronyms that are used within IT and associated industries. There are 100’s more of these that relate to all aspects of Information Technology ranging from software and hardware though to business processes and consultancy and this list will continue to grow as new innovations are made.
