March 2026 platform updates: Cybersecurity enhancements and quick wins

With a few large-scale developments under way in the fulfilmentcrowd platform, we thought we'd use March's platform update to primarily focus on one recent cybersecurity win: achieving Cyber Essentials Plus certification.

As well as diving into what this certification means for fulfilmentcrowd and our customers, we've made a small fix to the app to help with platform navigation, and have some enhancements to look forward to in the areas of customer support and search functionality.

Cyber Essentials Plus certification achieved

Security and reliability have always been fundamental to how we operate. That's why we're pleased to share that we've achieved Cyber Essentials Plus certification – a higher-level, UK government-backed cybersecurity scheme.

This milestone represents a significant investment in our cybersecurity infrastructure, and reflects our continued commitment to protecting our systems, operations, and most importantly, the brands we work with.

What is Cyber Essentials Plus?


Achieving CE+ means these controls aren't just documented, but tested and validated in practice.

Strengthening our security infrastructure

Earning Cyber Essentials Plus certification meant we needed to complete a comprehensive review and upgrade of our internal systems and processes.

This step included replacing legacy hardware and updating end-of-life operating systems across PCs and servers, as keeping infrastructure current is one of the most effective ways to reduce exposure to vulnerabilities.

We also implemented a VMaaS vulnerability and patch management service, allowing us to maintain continuous oversight of security updates across all company endpoints. This ensures systems remain up-to-date and protected against newly discovered threats.

During the certification process, independent auditors selected endpoints within our organisation and conducted live security testing, including simulated threat scenarios such as ransomware and malicious file attacks. These tests confirmed that our controls actively detect and block threats.

Building a security-aware organisation

There are two important factors in ensuring a security-conscious organisation: the technology and the people behind it.

Another part of the certification process was to strengthen our internal policies and training to ensure every member of the fulfilmentcrowd team plays their part in maintaining security.

This included:

  • Implementing stricter access controls and location restrictions for system access
  • Establishing clear Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policies
  • Delivering company-wide security awareness training
  • Running simulated phishing campaigns to identify training gaps and improve resilience

The result here is a more security-aware culture, where employees are equipped to recognise and respond to potential threats.

 


24/7 security monitoring

We've also introduced a Security Operations Centre (SOC) that monitors our systems and network infrastructure around the clock.

The SOC offers 24/7 monitoring, threat detection, analysis and response, ensuring potential threats are identified and addressed in real-time by dedicated cybersecurity specialists.

What this all means for our customers

Cyber Essentials Plus provides independent verification that our systems meet strict security standards and are resilient against common cyber attacks.

For our customers, this means:

  • Greater protection for operational systems and customer data
  • Increased resilience against threats such as ransomware
  • Independent validation of our security controls

For us, cybersecurity isn't a one-time project, but an ongoing commitment to the brands we work with.

Continuing to invest in security

Cyber threats continue to evolve, and so will our approach to defending against them.

Over the coming months, we have a pipeline of further security initiatives planned, as we continue strengthening our infrastructure and processes.

Our goal remains simple: continue to provide a secure, resilient platform our customers can trust to help their businesses grow.

 

Platform quick fix: Click through to products from orders and transfers

A small fix we recently rolled out in the platform is the ability to click straight through to a product from both order lines and inventory transfers.

It's certainly a quick win, but one of those changes that makes a big difference when navigating through the app.

A big thanks to the customers who point out the “how was this not already a thing?” improvements such as this – we really appreciate it, and your feedback genuinely does drive positive change within the platform.

What's coming soon?

We're still hard at work behind the scenes working on some big platform developments. Here's a preview of what's coming up.

Fai v2 release

Our trusty AI support sidekick. We’re set to imminently launch v2 of Fai, our customer support agent. We've seen Fai get involved in a lot of support cases since its launch in late 2025, with our AI handling 15% of order queries at a 42% resolution rate.


As we continue to improve Fai over time, your feedback is greatly appreciated – so please keep the conversation going as we look to provide the best support possible at the fulfilment layer.

Improving on-page search functionality

As part of an ongoing effort to help you navigate through the app, we're making improvements to search functionality in the following areas:

  • Orders
  • Custom Orders
  • Returns
  • Transfers
  • Rework
  • Activities
  • Tickets

Our goal is to move beyond the current global search pop-up and introduce stronger on-page search and filtering tools, allowing you to narrow down data and work through results one row at a time.
