Gisada’s Global Growth: A Winning Fulfilmentcrowd Partnership

Since launching in 2013, Gisada — a Swiss-born fragrance brand founded by two visionary brothers — has earned a seat at the table of the luxury fragrance market. Collaborations with master perfumers and innovators have guided its journey, creating a brand rooted in quality, elegance, and international appeal.

Fast forward to today, and the brand’s evolution shows no signs of slowing down. From onboarding with fulfilmentcrowd in 2023 to opening a new flagship store in Switzerland, Gisada is a brand that’s always got one eye on the future. Add to that their knockout partnership with Anthony Joshua, and you get a business that’s clearly playing to win.

From innovation to expansion, Gisada never shies away from its next big move, and is a brand that always comes up smelling like roses.

The challenge

Don’t sweat the smell stuff: Navigating growth hurdles in the fragrance industry

Gisada’s international ambition has always been met by the same unique challenge: its product. When it comes to shipping, most fragrances are classed as ‘dangerous goods,’ which can present some tricky regulations to navigate.

Brands typically start with cross-border shipping, but to ship fragrances globally from the UK or EU, appropriate permits, accreditations, and documentation must be secured. This means identifying, classifying, declaring, packing, and labelling goods for the origin, transit, and destination countries. A bit of a bombshell.

Gisada’s previous fulfilment operations were handled by a partner in Germany, but manual processes (and a lot of box-ticking) hindered their ability to scale as quickly as they wanted to.

They sought a more robust solution to easily ship within the EU, rapidly scale volumes for new product launches, and eventually extend their reach beyond EU borders. And that’s where we came in.

The solution

A keen sense of smell: Partnering with fulfilmentcrowd to expand seamlessly

In August 2023, Gisada chose fulfilmentcrowd as its new fulfilment partner, implementing a strategic launch plan to meet its ambitious growth targets.

Initial EU operations

Our partnership started from our state-of-the-art fulfilment centre in Bocholt, Germany. With our established carrier relationships, we crafted a bespoke solution that enabled the cross-border shipping of Gisada’s fragrances. This consisted of a multichannel approach, catering to DTC and B2B orders (with Douglas being a notable stockist), and multiple Amazon channels worldwide.

Our initial phase focused on efficiently serving Germany, Italy, and France, with Norway and Switzerland also forming significant consumer bases.

UK fulfilment expansion

In September 2024, Gisada continued its ambitious expansion plans by placing stock at our Matrix Park fulfilment centre in the UK. This move was designed to open global shipping routes, particularly by air, and support broader international growth.

As with any brand transporting products classed as ‘dangerous goods,’ air freight can add new layers of complexity. Not all carriers accept DG shipments, and those that do often come with sky-high costs.

However, working closely with Gisada, we’ve been able to adapt, test, and improve the overall fulfilment strategy. Now, we ship globally by air to a select number of countries, with road-based, domestic orders running smoothly in parallel.

Matrix Park plays a key role in Gisada’s fulfilment network, enabling:

•    Entry into the UK DTC market
•    Global shipping beyond the EU
•    Future support for clothing fulfilment as the product range expands
•    Enhanced supply chain resilience with a second network centre

After navigating some initial hurdles — from packaging signoffs to avoiding high-cost shipping countries — we’ve now got a UK-based fulfilment strategy that gives Gisada the freedom and flexibility for international growth.

US market integration

As Gisada continues to grow internationally, the United States stands out as its next big growth market. With stock already located at our Edison centre in New Jersey, the brand is poised to launch its US fulfilment through fulfilmentcrowd, creating a seamless, global fulfilment strategy that operates under one umbrella.

When the time’s right, the immediate focus will be on domestic US shipping for the DTC market, leveraging fulfilmentcrowd’s advanced technology to support Gisada’s vision of unified, efficient fulfilment across all markets.

Looking even further ahead, Gisada has interests in expanding operations to Dubai and Australia, both key locations on our global roadmap (and one that’s already ready to go in Sydney).

With Gisada’s sights firmly set on international growth and ours on global operational readiness, it’s a partnership that’s built on solid foundations of what's to come.

Tech, complexity, growth: The numbers behind Gisada’s success

Since launching with fulfilmentcrowd in September 2023, Gisada experienced a 3x increase in monthly orders just one year later in September 2024.

Between January and May 2025, Gisada continued to enjoy consistent growth, sustaining impressive momentum following a December 2024 in which they recorded more orders than their first eight months combined (including December 2023).

Overall, order volume has more than doubled year-on-year, marking a major milestone in the brand’s growth journey.

Throughout our partnership, we’ve maintained excellent service levels:

•    Nearly 30,000 orders fulfilled from the Bocholt centre in Germany at 100% SLA
•    Overall SLA of 99.98% across all global orders
•    900+ orders from our UK centre since expansion in September 2024

Plus, despite some EU-shaped hoops to jump through, we’re also nearly ready to launch an integration with Tradebyte, helping Gisada to further streamline and centralise its fulfilment tech stack.

Further than fragrance: Gisada’s retail and product range expansion

Gisada’s growth doesn’t stop at international fulfilment. In 2024, they opened a flagship store in Switzerland, marking the debut of a new clothing range. As the product line becomes more established (and clothing begins to be more introduced), we have plans to support clothing fulfilment from our Matrix Park centre in the UK, opening yet another new chapter of multichannel growth for Gisada.
