Gisada, a fragrance brand from Switzerland, was founded in 2013 by two visionary brothers from Zurich. Collaborations with master perfumers and innovators have fuelled their remarkable journey in perfumery. Now, Gisada is set to elevate its presence further through a strategic partnership with renowned athlete Anthony Joshua. This knockout collaboration is definitely something not to be sniffed at - showcasing Gisada's commitment to innovation and expansion, creating a new strategy to hit those new, untapped markets. And we’re more than confident that they’ll come up smelling like roses.
Gisada's ambition to scale internationally faces a unique challenge: the nature of their product. Shipping fragrances, classified as 'dangerous goods,' involves stringent regulations. Traditionally, brands would start with cross-border shipping, but to ship fragrances globally from the UK or EU, they must secure appropriate permits, accreditations, and documentation. This includes correctly identifying, classifying, declaring, packing, and labelling goods for the origin, transit, and destination countries. What a bombsmell.
Previously, Gisada's fulfilment operations were handled by a partner in Germany. However, the manual processes hindered their ability to scale efficiently. Gisada needed a more robust solution to cost-effectively ship within the EU, rapidly scale volumes for new product launches, and eventually extend their reach beyond the EU. Come smell or high water, we were up for the challenge.
In August 2023, Gisada chose fulfilmentcrowd as its new fulfilment partner, implementing a strategic launch plan to meet its ambitious growth targets.
Gisada kicked-off operations from fulfilmentcrowd’s state-of-the-art fulfilment centre in Bocholt, Germany. By leveraging strong carrier relationships, fulfilmentcrowd crafted a bespoke solution that enabled the cross-border shipping of Gisada's fragrances. This robust solution services a multichannel approach, catering to DTC orders, B2B orders (with Douglas being a notable stockist), and multiple Amazon channels worldwide. This initial phase focuses on efficiently serving Germany, Italy, and France, with Norway and Switzerland also forming significant consumer bases.
The second phase will see Gisada go live with a new fulfilment centre at Matrix Park in the UK. Bolstered with additional dangerous goods accreditations, fulfilmentcrowd can ship Gisada’s products globally from our Matrix Park centre in the UK by air, breaking down barriers to international expansion. This centre will serve four key purposes:
This strategic expansion ensures that Gisada's fragrances can reach customers far and wide, overcoming logistical hurdles with finesse.
Looking ahead to the rest of 2024 and beyond, Gisada plans to consolidate its fulfilment operations under fulfilmentcrowd’s umbrella in the USA. The new operations will be based out of the Edison centre in New Jersey on the East Coast, with an immediate focus on domestic US shipping for the DTC market. This expansion promises a seamless transition, leveraging fulfilmentcrowd's advanced technology to support Gisada's vision of unified, efficient fulfilment across all markets.
With fulfilmentcrowd's innovative and comprehensive solutions, Gisada is set to conquer new heights in the global fragrance industry. Come smell or high water, they’re poised to make their mark worldwide.
