Multichannel growth

The food eCommerce market is expected to reach a value of £261 million by 2023, with a CAGR of 17.1% (2023-2017). Post-pandemic, growth is identified where brands are putting increased focus on D2C sales, selling directly to their customers online.

Soaring opportunity

During the pandemic, the food and beverage market experienced more online sales growth than any other industry, with this maintaining into 2023 as social commerce, driven primarily by TikTok, has driven sales to soar further, especially amongst millennials and Gen Zers.

Centres of excellence

Order fulfilment centres designed with you in mind

Pick accuracy and high-order volumes sit at the heart of our proprietary WMS, and each of our order fulfilment centres are equipped with the same technology and operational processes.

Requirements ranging from simple D2C orders, to ad-hoc wholesale pallet deliveries to fast and efficient kitting and bundle building, fulfilmentcrowd can support with all routes to market.

The fulfilmentcrowd network has multiple SOIL certified centres of excellence specialising in chilled storage. Food and beverage commodity codes typically make it harder for brands to ship foods cross-border to consumers worldwide - the fulfilmentcrowd network allows for multiple stock locations to ship orders throughout the UK, Ireland, EU and USA with minimal friction.

Got a question?

We've answered them below

I have a custom-built sales platform. Can I still integrate with fulfilmentcrowd?

Absolutely. At fulfilmentcrowd, we offer bespoke integration solutions tailored to each brand. While we seamlessly integrate with major eCommerce platforms like Shopify and Magento, our expertise extends beyond that. With over 30 years in software development, our team of seasoned, in-house engineers specialises in building and implementing custom integrations for unique systems. We aim to deliver your integration swiftly and efficiently, without the high upfront costs often associated with custom solutions.

Can you support my brand in shipping stock to B2B and wholesale partners?

Absolutely! We have extensive experience in shipping inventory to B2B and wholesale partners, and we already support many clients with similar needs. Our open API enables seamless integration with EDI and ERP systems, which our engineers incorporate during onboarding to streamline setup.

We expertly manage inbound stock flow to major B2B partners, retailers, and third-party marketplaces like Holland & Barrett, Zalando, ASOS, and even a variety of professional football clubs.

I need to integrate with a bespoke ERP system. Is this possible?

Yes, our unique capability lies in our skilled team of industry experts and engineers who specialise in custom integration solutions. With an in-house team of over 40 software engineers, we utilise sprint methodology to quickly build tailored integrations for our high-volume clients. We frequently work with large brands that use bespoke ERP systems as a core part of their operations, seamlessly connecting their tech stack with the fulfilmentcrowd platform for automatic data flow.

No project is too complex. Since 2001, we’ve delivered hundreds of proven solutions for custom ERP integrations.

Can I ship to my customers outside of the UK?

Yes, we offer cross-border shipping from any of our order fulfilment centres, providing a scalable solution for brands currently selling low-volume overseas orders or when slightly higher delivery costs fit within your margin.

For brands planning to expand into new regions or scale shipping outside their home market, we recommend locating part of your inventory closer to overseas customers. With 16 fulfilment locations across the EU, UK, USA and AU, we can streamline your international expansion, enabling your brand to enter new markets quickly - often within a few weeks.

Will I need separate accounts on the platform for each country where my stock is located?

No, fulfilmentcrowd’s platform provides a single, unified view for managing your operations worldwide. With the same software operating across our entire fulfilment network, you’ll have seamless visibility of your inventory across multiple regions and sales channels in one centralised view.

Our technology package includes unlimited users, enabling flexible access so you can interact with the platform as much or as little as you’d like. We handle the operational complexities, notifying you only when action is needed or if there’s an issue, so you can stay focused on growth.

Do you use the FIFO method?
At fulfilmentcrowd, we adopt the FIFO method (First-In-First-Out) as a fundamental part of our inventory management process. FIFO is an essential inventory management technique where the oldest items in our clients' inventory are given priority and sold or used first. This means that the goods or products that arrived earliest in our warehouses are the first to be shipped out to customers or utilised in production.
Why is FIFO important?

We understand the significance of implementing the FIFO method in inventory management and its benefits for our clients:

  1. Minimising Product Expiry: For businesses dealing with perishable or time-sensitive products, FIFO ensures that older items are dispatched first, significantly reducing the risk of products expiring on the shelves.

  2. Preventing Obsolescence: In industries where products undergo frequent updates or newer versions are released, FIFO helps avoid inventory becoming obsolete, mitigating the risk of unsellable stock.

  3. Optimising Storage and Holding Costs: By adhering to FIFO, we optimise storage space by moving older inventory first, resulting in reduced holding costs and maximising space utilisation efficiency.

  4. Enhancing Customer Satisfaction: Following the FIFO principle, we ship fresher products to customers, leading to increased customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Do you offer batch control?

We do indeed offer batch control. This approach is particularly useful when dealing with large quantities of orders or inventory items. Here's a breakdown of what batch control entails and its benefits:

  1. Grouping Orders: Batch control allows orders to be grouped together based on various criteria, such as geographic location, product type, or shipping method. This grouping enables efficient processing and reduces the complexity of handling individual orders separately.

  2. Streamlined Processing: By processing orders in batches, we can optimise workflows. Instead of picking, packing, and shipping each order independently, our team can handle multiple orders at once, leading to faster processing times and increased overall efficiency.

  3. Reduced Errors: Working with batches reduces the chances of errors during order fulfilment. Once a batch is set up, our team can double-check the accuracy of each order within the batch before processing. This reduces the risk of mixing up products or shipping the wrong items to customers.

  4. Inventory Management: Batch control is crucial for inventory management. It helps track the movement of items in and out of the warehouse, enabling better inventory control and preventing stockouts or overstock situations.

Do you offer cold storage?
Our facility for chilled fulfilment is backed by a cold storage warehousing investment, powered by a Danfoss cooling system to keep products at 2-4 degrees Celsius all year round. This creates perfect storage conditions for supplements that contain live cultures. The specialist refrigerated storage unit is monitored 24/7 via CCTV and digital thermometers which makes sure the temperature never rises and our catalogue of fulfilment houses operates using First In, First Out (FIFO) method, eliminating waste costs from your bottom line.
