An estimated 16.9 billion in eCommerce sales is estimated for Christmas 2016 according to eMarketer. Thus highlighting the trend that consumers prefer to sit in the comfort of their homes, without having to face the hustle and bustle of hitting the shops during this key festive period being prodded and poked with those never ending rolls of wrapping paper.


With this expected rise in sales compared to the £14.65 billion accumulated in 2015, it’s important for etailers to finalise their preparations to meet the demand of consumers. From highlighting last delivery days, to ensuring your customer service is able to answer any queries and calls you’ll receive from online shoppers, after all customer satisfaction is vital to get those important sales.

So here’s a handy guide to those key online shopping dates that you ought to be taking advantage of.

Grey Thursday 24th November

No…not 50 shades of grey… But a lead up to the big event of ‘Black Friday’, Grey Thursday gives online retailers an opportunity to showcase their deals.

Black Friday 25th November

One of the biggest eCommerce events., Consumers just can’t get enough of bagging some mega deals with 2015 breaking the billion pound mark… so let’s wait and see what 2016 holds!
